Keith’s story-telling style hinges on the ability to connect quickly with his subjects. His genuine curiosity about the world and the people in it helps break barriers created by the camera.

Why tell stories?

Stories are our native language. Dogs sniff each other…humans tell stories. It’s the most effective form of communication we have devised.

Our brains are hard-wired to process information better when it’s in story form. I remember the stories my high school math teacher told but struggle to hold on to the math…if only the math could have been part of the story.

When story-telling is embraced at a strategic level we access the communication path of least resistance. And when a story-telling strategy is coupled with photography, the message can be immediate, universal and indelible.

Most of the photographs shown here are the building blocks of a story. Many appeared in the pages of magazines, others helped define a corporation’s story. All are a fundamental part of my story.
