About Keith Philpott
Life does not consist mainly, or even largely, of facts or happenings. It consists mainly of the storm of thoughts that is forever flowing through one's head. --Mark Twain
I took my first photograph on Kodachrome with my parents' Instamatic in the mid-60s. Somewhere between that event and college, photography became a passion for me. After 30 years as a professional photographer, my travel resume has pushed past 100 countries.
As activities go, travel and photography could not be more complimentary. The stimulation of seeing new things often manifests itself in the desire for creative expression.
Much has changed since that first roll of Kodachrome but the fundamentals remain the same. Ultimately, I'm looking for the confluence of moment, light and composition. Like the perfect golf shot, you only need to hit it once to develop a full-time obsession with doing it again.
